LOTRO

LOTRO or Lord of the Rings Online is the latest MMORPG from Turbine Inc.

In Lotro you can choose to play from a range of characters including the Hunter, Captain, Minstrel, Guardian, Lore Master, Champion and Burglar.

The basic aim of this game, and many other games of this type, is to level your character to the max level (currently 50) through a series of quests and "grinding" where you kill monsters for experience.

Along the way you will come across many of your favourite LOTR characters from aragorn to Elrond, Bilbo and Frodo Baggins and of dourse everyone's favourite wizard Gandalf the Grey.

This game also includes a crafting system, allowing you to create weapons, armour, jewellery, and many other items.

At this stage of the game only the area of Eriador is accessible to players, with other regions of Middle Earth being opened with later exapansion releases.

One thing i found with it though is it can get quite difficult to play in some parts with monsters respawning far too quickly and which can get frustrating at times. Another bad thing about it is it is quite similar to World of Warcraft in the way that you can only choose a specific class.

Overall though it is a great game, great graphics (improved recently with the new DirectX10 software) and I highly recommend it for LOTR fans and anyone interested in MMORPG's.
